Introduction

In Hebrews 13:8-9 we learn that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.”

It's for this reason that we seek to educate our children in the Word of God. We see that the primary responsibility for the training and nurture of children rests with the parents in our congregation. The elders and teachers seek to encourage parents in this vital task and to provide a program of consistent instruction that can supplement the instruction that takes place in the home and in the weekly gathering on the Lord's Day.

At present this supplementary instruction occurs in our Wednesday night Catechism classes and our Wednesday night Congregational Education program.

Catechism Classes

Young people (ages 9-18) meet every Wednesday night at 7:30 to study the Bible, as summarized by the Heidelberg Catechism (learn more about the Heidelberg Catechism). This study is intended to provide our young people with concise, systematic instruction about what the Bible teaches, in order that they may give an informed confession of their faith in Christ.

Congregational Education

We have several Bible Studies and classes to choose from for those who are looking to grow in their faith and their understanding of the scriptures. The Ladies' Morning Bible Study meets on Thursday mornings at the church building and the Men's Evening Bible Study meets in the home of one of our members (Bill V). There is also a class being taught by our pastor called "A Journey Through The Bible" which is a survey of the whole Bible. It runs from 8-9pm on Wednesday nights at the church building. Lastly, there is a class on "How People Change" which is being taught by one of our members which also meets on Wednesdays.
